Problems with opping myself

Hi,
I have made my self an operator on my server, installed the craft bucket 1.1 and I'm having problems using basic commands and my iPod cannot recognise the server.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be, I really want to get it sorted out.

This is for the default Minecraft server only, Bukkit is not supported!

If your still having problems with Oping yourself...

Code:

Go to the Mine-Control App on your computer.
1. Go to Ops/Banned/Whitelist tab.
2. Type your name under Ops.
3. Click add. You should be an op now.

Check the Server list on your iPod and add the server through there. If it's there...
Make sure you have port forwarded successfully and what not.
And Maybe it's bukkit causing the problems. I hope that helped a little bit even though its a late post.

I don't use bukkit and my server runs smoothly with all the commands and teleports and that kind of thing.
