What to backup?

Post  Plastiqmanb on Sun Sep 11, 2011 9:43 am

In the future (hopefully) when new mine control server version is released, what are the core files that would be persistent to update the server? Just wondering, with 1.8 and all...

For windows users, the database file that stores all of your settings is called "mcDb.sdf" and that's in the Mine Control folder itself.

For Mac users, there are two separate database files. One is inside tha Mine Control Server app structure, called "mcAccount.sqlite" that stores the Minecraft server path locations and the IP/Port configurations. The other database file is stored in the same path as your Minecraft server and stores all of the game settings, items, users, etc.

When there is a Mine Control Server update for Windows, the database file is automatically left in place and you won't need to do anything. For Mac updates, the database file will need to be pulled out of the old version's app folder and put into the new one. I wasn't thinking when I set that one up! I'm going to try to make that automatic in the future.

Hope that helps!
