Help getting set up Empty Help getting set up

Post  generalboo92 Tue Aug 02, 2011 12:46 am

I am trying to get my server set up with this and using Bukkit. No matter what i try I can't even get the server to start with or without Bukkit. I can't find any real tutorial on how to set this up. Please help.

Send me a screenshot of your server setup (with the file paths) and the main screen and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks!

Well actually late last night I got it to work. Now the only thing I can't get is getting the iOS app to connect to the server. It never finds it. Not sure what to put as the IP when addind a server. I think that is the issue.

Did you open the port on your router for that too? And do you have the server build that was posted yeterday? There was an issue where it was pulling the wrong IP address for the Mine Control server to listen on. The build I posted yesterday (1.0.1) will fix that. Let me know if it still isn't helping.

Yes I have the build from yesterday, and know that you mention it, I never did open the port.

Can you send me screenshots of your setup? Either post them here or email them to support@mine-control.net.

Make sure you have the bukkit check box checked on the setup screen, and also make sure it's pointing to the bukkit jar file.

Does the server show as started or does it not get that far?

Help getting set up Empty Bukkit

Post  theonlyt Thu Aug 04, 2011 11:51 am

disregard the email screenshot i sent you. I figured out why the server wasn't starting. I can get the server to run now. What i don't think works is my friends being able to connect to this server or anyone. My ports are open and everything. Is there any way i can test if it works or not? Btw thanks for actually helping your customers. Ill be sure to tell everyone i know about ur app and this website.

The easiest way to test would be to try connecting to your server with Mine Control and Minecraft using the internal IP first. If that works, try connecting with the external IP you setup. If only the external IP isn't working, it's a router issue.

Just a quick note in case anyone else runs into it - When you setup your Start Command, make sure the correct minecraft server JAR file is listed there. The official file is minecraft_server.jar, but when using bukkit, it's something along the lines of cfatbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar.

So the Start command should be something like this for bukkit servers:
java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar nogui

and this for standard servers
java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
