Help on set up Empty Help on set up

Post  vonex96 Fri Aug 12, 2011 6:13 pm

Hi!
I just tried to install the server client on my Mac, and I get the following error in the console when I click on the Start button:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java
at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306)
at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247)
I already tried with the server already running and not, so, can you please help me?

Thanks!

Hey there - That sounds like it can't find your java files. If you go to a terminal window and just type 'java' does it give you some java info?

I'm assuming you can run Minecraft fine on the mac?

Yes, it gives me info on Java, and Minecraft works fine...

And, somehow, I managed to make it work! Very Happy

Thanks for the fast answer, it's really appreciated!

I will try to find out what I did and post it there if someone need it.

Thanks again Smile

Awesome! Please let me know how it goes. I know of one issue that's stopping some people from getting it started, but I haven't heard from anyone who has gotten it up and running yet Smile

I know I'm not in the right topic, but I can't manage to add user for the iOS app... I tried using self-registration and creating myself the account. Even before the Connecting... screen, it is loading something (the little spinning thing over the arrow in the server list) and I can't connect. Do I need to use the Mine Control Port or the Minecraft Server port?

Thanks (again Smile )

When you're adding a server on the iOS client, you use the Mine Control port.

Are you able to add users to the server on the users tab? There should be a Default user there already.

That little spinner on the home screen is just checking to see if the Mine Control server is up. You can pretty much ignore that for right now. There's actually a bug with it. If you haven't registered your user account with the server yet, it just spins forever Smile

Well, it looks like it doesn't work at all Sad
Can you, please, explain me, step by step what I need to do?
Do I need to connect (on iOS) with my internal or external IP?
Do I need to use different ports on public, local and the admin web site?

Actually, the server works for Minecraft client, but not for Mine Control clients.... I know I'm probably missing something on the port section....

Thanks

EDIT: So now, I have a red dot over the arrow....

I HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

Finally, I got it!
1) You need 4 different ports: one for Minecraft (obviously), one for the web site, one for the local IP, and one for the Public IP.
2) You need to forward all the ports EXCEPT the web site one
3) On your local network, you need to connect using your local (internal) IP and ports
4) If you have an Airport (Mac) you need to do:
a) Forward a port for Minecraft
b) Forward a port for Mine Control (You clic the +, then, under public you write your public port, and under private, you write your private port)
5) And that's it!

Thanks for all the help! (If you need more details I can give them)
Very Happy
