does MineControl Support Hamachi Servers?

Post  gtech on Thu Aug 04, 2011 5:34 pm

i cant get the app on the i pod to work right so i was wondering does the MineControl Support Hamachi Servers?
if you dont know what hamachi is. it is a way to port forwarp from your pc and not going to your router.
Help me i love running MineControl but i want to use the IOS portion of it too.

I think I see the problem - so for the Minecraft server to work, you enter your Hamachi IP into the server.properties file, right? And the minecraft server works fine?

The Mine Control piece of it is only binding to the local IPs that it can find, which wouldn't include the Hamachi IP. So if I added the ability to enter an ip address for the Mine Control server instead of just hard coding it to the local IPs, that should work.

Let me take a look at that and see what I can find out. Would you be willing to do some testing once I get an update ready?

I just posted an update to the Download page. Version 1.0.2 will let you specify the IP and port to assign to Mine Control locally. Normally it would be left blank, but see if putting your Hamachi IP in there solves this issue. Let me know how it goes!

It can be whatever you want, as long as it's different than your Minecraft port. 7995 is just the default, but it should be fine.
